AI made the recipe I’m going to try today! Artificial intelligence! It is an ai vegan steak recipe. The ingredients on the recipe seemed fairly basic but when I originally read the actual instructions though, the method seemed fishy, I didn’t think it was going to work. Ingredients
In a bowl I add one cup of vital wheat gluten, a quarter cup nutritional yeast, two tablespoons soy sauce, one tablespoon tomato paste, one teaspoon liquid smoke, a quarter teaspoon onion powder, a quarter teaspoon garlic powder, quarter teaspoon paprika, quarter teaspoon black pepper, and mix! Then I add one cup of vegetable broth. I knead this together like the recipe says, for a few minutes until it is firm and elastic. I ended up kneading for about fifteen minutes. Then it says to divide the dough into four pieces and shape the pieces into steak-like shapes.
Cook
I put a little bit of weight on my steak pieces and allow them to rest. Then we need to heat a large frying pan with two tablespoons of vegetable oil in it. We have it over a medium/high heat and I add two of my steaks in. The recipe says three minutes per side. At three minutes I flipped them over and they were dark! But if I had cooked it for any less time it wouldn’t be done! The last set of instructions says to season the steak with salt to taste! I slice them open and they have a really nice interior! But they are pretty squishy.
It’s not fully cooked all the way though in my opinion. But it still might work! It has a firm cut, it feels a little rubbery. It’s not bad! It does taste like steak! And it does have a meaty, chewy bite to it! This would be great if it was cut into small strips or squares and put in a stir fry! Watch the full video here!
