Bean Takis

     Beans make some of the best snacks. Any bean can be crispy roasted. And all beans have their different benefits. For our first recipe we are going to make it insanely simple, in the air fryer, with pinto beans. The first thing I do is open a can of pinto beans, drain them and rinse them well. Pinto Beans

      Next I dry the beans off very well. Then give them a spray of olive oil and into the air fryer at 400ºF for twenty five minutes. Then while the pinto beans are cooking I start the longer recipe which is going to get you a bit more flavor. Black beans take a bit longer to cook. So to start I rinse them, try to get off some of the skins. Then I pat them dry. Give them a spray of olive oil and into the oven at 400ºF for thirty five minutes. Now the pinto beans are done in the air fryer. Then I take them out and put them in a bowl. Then I also pulled my black beans out of the oven after twenty two minutes and let them sit.

     Then I give the pinto beans another spray of olive oil. Next I sprinkle in some tajin, a bit of salt, and a little cayenne pepper. And there you have a very quick, very easy pinto bean taki snack! They are super good! Back to the black beans. Then in a bowl I add half a tablespoon of salt, a small pinch of sugar, a half teaspoon of msg, a half teaspoon citric acid, a half teaspoon maltodextrin, two teaspoons cayenne pepper, some chili powder, habanero powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and some paprika. Then mix and crush the powders together. 

Taste Test!

    Then add in the black beans, give them a little spray of olive oil then coat them in the seasoning. Once they are coated we throw these into the oven for just ten minutes. Then they are done! The pinto beans came out great! They are a little smokey. The black beans came out really great too, they are more like takis. Ingredients
  

Pinto Bean Snack

  • 1 can pinto beans
  • olive oil spray
  • tajin
  • salt
  • cayenne pepper

Black Bean Snack

  • 1 can black beans
  • olive oil spray
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • pinch sugar
  • 1/2 tsp msg
  • 1/2 tsp citric acid
  • 1/2 tsp maltodextrin
  • 2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • chili powder
  • habanero powder
  • garlic powder
  • onion powder
  • paprika

Instructions
 

Pinto Bean Snack

  • Open pinto beans, drain and rinse them well. Dry the beans off then spray them with olive oil then into the air fryer at 400ºF for 25 minutes.
  • Take them out and pour beans into bowl, spray with olive oil again then add tajin, salt and cayenne pepper. Mix around and they are done!

Black Bean Snack

  • Drain and rinse black beans, try to remove some of the skins. Pat them dry.
  • Spray with olive oil and into the oven at 400ºF for 35 minutes.
  • In a bowl add salt, sugar, msg, citric acid, maltodextrin, cayenne pepper, chili powder, habanero powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Mix and crush powders together.
  • Add in the black beans, spray a bit of olive oil and coat them in the seasoning. Toss into oven for 10 minutes then enjoy!
