I have been eating sushi in the US for years and I was shocked when I couldn’t answer, What does wasabi taste like? See the Wasabi that we eat in most sushi restaurants is actually not real wasabi. That wasabi might be simply just horseradish with some green food coloring. Real wasabi rhizome is very difficult to grow and cultivate making it unlikely to be served unless you are paying a premium. So I paid that premium to see for myself what real wasabi tastes like.
