Simple Oat Cream
A while back I made a video about why I stopped eating fake meats and today I’m going to talk a little about fake cheeses and what I’m doing. On my channel there have been loads of fake cheeses. I don’t remember the last time I ate fake cheese, just like fake meats. I don’t think there is anything specifically wrong with vegan cheese. But I do believe for health and feeling good in general there needs to be a moderation of it. But every now and then I still want something cheesy! That doesn’t go away. So if I am in the mood for something like that I’ll make a simple oat cream. If you like this recipe, be sure to check out this one too! and this one!
Blending
This is super easy and really good. In a bowl I add around two cups of rolled oats, and cover them in hot water for about thirty minutes. After they’ve sat, rinse them with cold water and then add them to a blender. I also add in two cups of water, two tablespoons of olive oil, a pinch of nutritional yeast, a pinch of salt, about a half teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and then blend!
Make It How You Like!
Blend until it is entirely creamy. Once it is creamy, run it through a strainer. Then add it to a container, toss it into the refrigerator. Now anytime you need a cream for anything, pastas or sauces, top some on pizza, whatever you want. This is a really good base cream. I just wanted to make some creamy mac and cheese so I have my noodles, add in the base cream with a little garlic powder, mustard powder, white pepper, black pepper, salt.
Taste Test
This comes out like your white cheddar mac and cheese! Except it’s not white cheddar, it’s like an oat cream macaroni. But it tastes good! And it has simple, clean ingredients. Realistically it’s pretty healthy for you, there’s nothing in here that’s bad! This is good workout fuel. And it’s good! Really good! Watch the full video here!
