For the buns
add yeast and warm water (108ยบ) to bowl of stand mixer and allow to bloom for 5 minutes
mix starch, flour, and baking powder together
after yeast has bloomed add flour mix into yeast
give a quick mix then add oil and sugar
set mixer to low speed with a dough hook attachment and kneed until soft smooth dough ball is formed
remove dough ball and add to an oiled bowl. cover and let rest for 2 hours or until doubled in size
removed dough ball from bowl and punch out air and form back into smooth ball
cut into 8 and form into ball shapes
cover with warm damp kitchen towel and let rest for 15 minutes
Once rested push down on dough and roll out into palm sized circles
fill with choice of filling close up
place on parchment paper and steam for 10-12 minutes

chop mushrooms and green onion
In a mixing bowl coat in a small amount of olive oil
salt and pepper
Oil a cast iron skillet over medium heat
add green onion and cook until translucent
add mushrooms and cook until slightly soft
then add sauces mix will
add five spice
simmer on meduim heat until sauce reduces and thickens
remove from heat and use to fill manapua
