AN INSANELY Delicious VEGGIE BURGER That Won’t Have YOU MISSING MEAT!

Today we are making a super tasty, easy to make, veggie burger recipe. This specific recipe is inspired from a video by Sam the Cooking Guy! This burger will be more nutritious and a little better for you than your typical burger. It will also be similar to The Impossible Burger and the Beyond Burger. If you like this recipe, be sure to check out this one too! and this one!

Let’s Start Cooking

We are going to start by getting about a cup and a half of water into a kettle and on the heat. Then you want to add about one cup of textured pea protein, a tablespoon of beef seasoning, about half a cup of finely chopped and dried shiitake mushrooms to a bowl. Add your hot water, and mix everything together. It will be very liquidy at first but the ingredients will soak up the water. Cover that up and set it aside for about ten or fifteen minutes.

Then we are going to chop up about half of a yellow onion, toss it in a pan on a low heat, dry, to allow them to sweat out some of their moisture. Now you want to drain your black beans and toss them in the pan with the onions. Again you want these to be dry, like almost sticking to your nonstick pan. Once those are done cooking you can dump them into your food processor. They should turn almost into a paste.

When you have the right texture it’s time to add the mushroom mix into the food processor as well. If there is still some water left in the bowl, try not to let that go in with everything else. Along with that we are also going to add in two tablespoons of egg replacer. If you don’t have egg replacer, potato starch or tapioca starch will work as well. Pulse that up until you have a nice even mixture. Put your mixture into a bowl, cover it, and let it rest in the refrigerator for about thirty minutes. We are about halfway done with this veggie burger recipe!

Toppings Toppings Toppings!

Now what’s a good burger without a good topping? Let’s make a sweet jalapeno onion topping! Slice up some onions, toss them in a pan with some olive oil and let them brown a bit. Sprinkle a pinch of sugar on them while they cook, and add in a few tablespoons of water. Cook them down until they are nice and caramelized. Once they are done, toss them into a bowl, chop up a few pickled jalapenos and mix them in.

Almost Burger Time

Now it’s about time to get our mixture out of the refrigerator and to make sure the burgers have a nice bite to them, we add around a quarter cup of gluten flour and mix that all in by hand. This whole mixture typically makes about six patties. You can use a mold of some sort to try and get a nice shape to the patties but you don’t have to. Whatever burgers you don’t want to eat now, you can toss in the freezer for another time!

Time to season the burgers with some garlic powder, onion powder, salt and a little black pepper. Next put them on a well oiled pan with their buns so they get toasted. For the rest of the burger toppings I’m just using a little avocado, adding that to the bottom bun, and topping the burgers with some vegan cheese. Add a little water around the burgers and let them steam for just a minute. Then add them onto the bun with a little sriracha, and our sweet onion jalapeno mix.

Take a Bite!

Although it’s a veggie burger, it tastes like a real meat burger! It has a nice meaty bite and even a little snap to it. It’s tender, flavorful, and super juicy. It’s also soft, softer than The Impossible Burger or The Beyond burger. The avocado adds to the burger itself as well as the sauce and the onions. Well there you have it our veggie burger recipe! A great veggie burger that will make you not miss meat at all!! Don’t forget to watch the full video here!
